To coincide with the release of his new book, More Sawn-Off Tales, Takk hosts an evening with critically acclaimed author David Gaffney (pictured). Made up of 68 150-word-long stories, More Sawn-Off Tales is a darkly funny reprise to 2006’s original Sawn-Off Tales, touching on plots such as a zoo with only three animals and a comedian expressing himself only through smell, as well as some of David’s experiences of living in Manchester. Joining David will be fellow author Gregory Norminton, who will also be reading from his new book, Thumbnails: a collection of short stories comprising myth, social comedy, tragedy and speculative fiction. With a spoken word DJ set by Monkeys In Love completing the bill, and Barefoot Wines providing drinks throughout the evening, there’s plenty to go around for lovers of fine words and well-crafted tales.
