Manchester music fans eager to get their hands on limited edition new releases from their favourite bands and artists will have to wait a little longer than expected when it comes to celebrating Record Store Day 2020. Due to the slew of recent precautions and measures put in places by both the government and regional and national event organisers, this year’s Record Store Day will be postponed until Saturday 20 June 2020. A key date in the calendars of many, the decision to delay this year’s day-long celebration of grassroots music stores was not taken lightly, with the organisers of this year’s showcase declaring that the health and safety of the general public must come first. That said, when the big day finally arrives in a few months time, music-loving Mancunians can no doubt expect the same party atmosphere and rare, one-off releases on sale at the city’s many iconic record stores. Good things come to those who wait, right?
