Fans of hip-hop sampling, jazz heads and soul connoisseurs alike will be spoilt this Friday with an ambitious project originated by acclaimed composer Bobbie-Jane Gardner and Academy Award-nominated documentarian and photographer Brian (B+) Cross.
Interpreting the legends David Axelrod and Charles Stepney, Music Of The Unseen sees the 16-piece Project Ensemble perform new arrangements and interpretations of Axelrod and Stepney’s music with live visuals and experimental film.
In keeping with the theme, DJ sets from Manchester’s Mr Scruff and Jon K form the afterparty, inspired by the music of Axelrod and Stepney.
