This month, Brian Foster’s funny, vivid and emotionally powerful play Myra’s Story brings an affecting tale of misfortune, anguish and redemption to Lowry, starring renowned actor Fionna Hewitt-Twamley in a breathtaking turn as the titular character.
Arriving in Salford direct from the West End, the four-time Edinburgh Fringe favourite follows Myra, a middle-aged alcoholic sleeping rough on the streets of an indifferent Dublin.
Through Hewitt-Tamley’s ‘astounding’ (Entertainment Now) chameleonic talent in a one-woman performance for the ages, she plays more than 15 characters as she recounts her journey to rock bottom, from hilarious mishaps to heartbreaking tragedy.
Hailed as ‘outstanding’ by Broadway Baby and ‘a fine display of Irish storytelling’ in Everything Theatre, this sharply funny yet deeply poignant production promises to make you laugh and cry in equal measure across its two-night run.
Book tickets below.
