Following a triumphant inaugural year, the neo:artprize returns next week with the opening of this year’s exhibition, featuring new work from the finest new contemporary visual artists. Set in the neo:gallery22, in the heart of Bolton’s Market Place, the exhibition offers exposure for up-and-coming visual artists to showcase their work. Having gone international for its second year, the exhibition features impressive submissions from right across the globe, promising awards including a £2000 first prize. Last year’s prize (exhibition pictured) was won by Ana Rose Hopkins, whose installation consisted of salad bowls created from broken glass from the 2011 Manchester riots – so originality and refined craftsmanship is to be expected here. The exhibition will run through to the end of July, with winners being announced during a special ceremony this coming Saturday.
