Everyday Illusions is an exhibition that explores the beautiful and mundane aspects of everyday life through the curiosity of the creative mind. For this exhibition, the work of eight artists, working across a range of different mediums, will create an inquiry into the spaces we inhabit, the objects we use and our understanding of spatial perspectives. Each artist finds individual ways to seek out new meanings in their surroundings by deconstructing familiar settings, and reconstructing them until they become disguised by the illusion of the imagination. Among the artists showing will be: Hermione Allsopp (work pictured), who was shortlisted for the Mark Tanner Sculpture Award 2013; Conor Rogers, who was shortlisted from the John Moores Painting Prize 2014; and Eleanor Watson, who was shortlisted for the Cynthia Corbett’s Young Masters Arts Prize 2014.
