A new ‘speakeasy’ bar, The Fitzgerald is set to open in Stevenson Square on Thursday, in the back alleyway across from Kraak. From the team behind Rosylee Tea Rooms, Tusk, Hula bar and more, the bar will soft launch on Friday 29 November and Saturday 30 November, before being open on and off until the end of the year between private hire bookings. Named after F Scott Fitzgerald, naturally the bar will be decked out in Gatsby-style 1920s furniture, while drinks and snacks – including cocktails complete with candyfloss garnish and soft pretzels with mustard – will be served by staff in waistcoats and flapper dresses. Tipped to launch properly in January 2014, and to host a new North West Beer Festival along the way, The Fitzgerald looks set to be the place to be for chic, jazz-age vibes.
