The latest exhibition from the Manchester-based art collective – Generic Greeting – will be launching at Takk this Thursday. Located on Tariff Street in the Northern Quarter, Four will feature work from 13 of the collective’s visual artists who will be responding to a quote about the urban environment by the writer Jean-Paul Sartre: ‘I am afraid of towns. But you mustn’t leave them. If you venture too far, you come to the Vegetation Belt.’ Generic Greeting are an art collective formed in 2010 and since their inception they have made a name for themselves in Manchester by collaborating with cultural establishments including Vice, Now Then and the BBC. The launch night on Thursday will feature a selection of DJs including Big War, Szajna, DJ Croww and Kernon. Hawkshead Brewery will kindly be providing Windermere Pale Ale to guests on the opening night. If you can’t make it to the launch night, the exhibition will be up in Takk throughout the spring.
