Two world-renowned bartenders are set to open a brand new venue in one of Manchester’s most-loved spaces. Created by siblings Joe and Daniel Schofield, Schofield’s Bar will feature a menu of 24 cocktails, including classics such as Bloody Marys and Manhattan’s while also catering for non-cocktail lovers with an array of beers, wines and champagnes.
The venue will find its home on Quay Street in the Grade II-listed Sunlight House which was formerly The Old Grapes, amongst well known neighbours Albert’s Schloss and the soon to open Blues Kitchen. Joe and Daniel are originally from Bury and between them, the brothers have worked in bars and venues in around 60 different countries, garnering an impressive 25 years of experience respectively. Joe was impressively the first person in history to be named both International Bartender of the year in the Tales of The Cocktail Spirited Awards and also the Bartender’s Bartender at The World’s 50 Best Bars 2018.
The pair have always had a growing passion for the hospitality industry, with both leaving university early to pursue their passion. The brothers certainly have enough experience and knowledge to open a bar anywhere in the world and have also published a cocktail recipe book. They chose Manchester as their base knowing Northerners have a great sense of hospitality and after seeing the changes made to the city since Joe left in 2014. They describe their future endeavour as ‘a classic cocktail bar with exceptional drinks, great music and warm hospitality’ on their Instagram.
