The idea of a smokehouse menu is nothing new to the various eateries of Manchester. Southern American dining is somewhat de riguer across the city despite having no real links to the tastes of the misty southern states of the US of A – other than having watched one too many episodes of Man vs Food. To bring at least a modicum of history to the smokehouse tastes is Hard Rock Café. They celebrate 13 years in Manchester this month and, to coincide with the occasion, they’re introducing a special smokehouse menu, consisting of a mouth-watering selections of ribs, chicken and pulled pork dishes – all of which are hickory-smoked on site. Hard Rock Café was founded by a Memphis native, Isaac Tigrett, back in 1971 and they still use those early recipes influenced by Tigrett’s love for his southern roots. This special smokehouse menu is available throughout September – see the menu here.
