Writer and actor Leo Burtin invites you to take a seat at his onstage table in The Midnight Soup. The interactive drama sees its protagonist first musing in monologue and then extending conversation to his audience, covering themes of mortality and loss in the wake of his grandmother’s passing. As much a place to air griefs as it is a story of suicide in itself, the production serves up a banquet of ideas fit to explore some of life’s looming questions. There are two helpings during the day, so you can feast on theatre at your favoured time. Leo Burtin is one of the region’s most interesting cross-disciplinary artists. He creates theatre which is socially engaged and has worked with some of Britain’s leading theatre companies in recent years, including imitating the dog and Blast Theory.
