Utilising circus skills and autobiographical storytelling, ‘This Time’ is a new piece of visual storytelling which is coming to the Lowry next month. It has four cast members between the ages of 13 and 60, each performing stunts and acrobatics. Featuring a series of aerial frames which are raised from floor to ceiling, the four will lift, push and cradle each other through a world of windows and ledges, using innovative takes on the trapeze and swinging cradle. Throughout the 65-minute show, they explore the tangible differences between each other, as bodies are suspended high in the air and swung close to the ground. The aim of the piece is to look at perceptions of strength and age: how we are strong, both emotionally and physically, at different times in our lives. The play comes from the award-winning theatre company Ockham’s Razor, who are known for the recent hit play ‘Tipping Point’.
