DIY culture co-op Partisan Collective have bagged a new permanent city centre space – and you can celebrate with them at their Partisan Open Weekend. The weekender is to raise funds for development of the venue, and features three days of music, performance and creativity. Highlights on Friday include post-punkers LIINES and the haunting drones of Water. Look out for Young Identity’s performance poetry on Saturday, while Sunday will feature a women-led DJ workshop and vogueing with choreographer Darren Pritchard. Partisan are still looking for people to pitch in with workshops, cookery and more – contact them to get involved. And watch this space: the independent Cheetham Hill Road venue is set to become a regular spot for meetings, exhibition, film screenings, book launches and gigs.

Fri 28 – Sun 30 Jul, Partisan, 19 Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester, M4 4FY. 6pm, £5 – £20, www.eventbrite.co.uk
