Islington Mill launches its autumn programme on Thursday with a new group show from Bristol’s contemporary art platform WORKS|PROJECTS. Presenting works from the collective’s artists, the exhibition includes sculptural installations and performance by duo Heather and Ivan Morison, new video work by David Wojtowycz (still pictured) – who’s already impressed at the Mill with his American Bodies exhibition in 2011 – and works from Marie Toseland, Melanie Counsell and James Parkinson. Using selected artworks, the exhibition has been arranged to turn the Mill’s top floor into a broken narrative that expresses the process of ruin, featuring an unusable staircase, collapsing forms and a disemboweled cat. Launching on Thursday evening, the exhibition will show until Monday 4 November.

Thu 26 Sep – Mon 4 Nov, Islington Mill, James Street, Salford, M3 5HW, Tel: 0161 278 6404, launch at 8pm – 2am, FREE, www.islingtonmill.com
