Manchester is full of foodies these days, with a restaurant scene that is both sprawling and thriving, and now also home to an abundance of eager bloggers to write about it. With hopes that there may be a Michelin star within our reach some day soon, food lovers everywhere are no longer disregarding the city’s culinary potential. After enjoying the picturesque landscape of Tatton Park for several years, the North West Food Lovers Festival is on the move to EventCity this year to prove that it means business. Big name chefs include Simon Rimmer (pictured) and Brian Mellor, as well as Corrie star and cheese fan Sean Wilson. With an extensive lineup of exhibitors, you’ll get the chance to wander the stalls and sample all the cider, cheese, coffee and crepes your belly can handle – and there will also be wine masterclasses from Charlie the Wine, which cost £20 but the price includes general entry to the festival.

Fri 18 – Sun 20 Oct, EventCity, Barton Dock Road, Urmston, M41 7TB, Fri 12pm – 5pm, Sat – Sun 10am – 5pm, £5 advance/£6 OTD, www.nwfoodloversfestival.co.uk
