A new kind of club night is coming to Night & Day Café, this October. The ‘Northern Quarter Working Men’s Club’ is a throwback to the good (?) old days, and will include: musical bingo, a naff raffle, and games of dominoes. To go with the pints of bitter, there will be pickled eggs and parched peas. There’s even a screening of the classic kitchen-sink drama Saturday Night, Sunday Morning, starring Salford’s Albert Finney. If you fancy something a bit more active, also taking place on the night is the Café’s regular Northern Soul dance class. Music for the event will be a retro disco in the guilty pleasure style. However, this being Night & Day, someone will probably demand that they turn the volume down.
