The rise of Spanish restaurants in Manchester continues and new independent restaurant, Tapeo & Wine has opened on Deansgate this week. Offering the city tapas, with the ingredients all hailing from the motherland, the menu isn’t available online but would-be diners can stalk them via Twitter and Facebook for pictorial evidence of delicious air dried tuna loin, tortilla and gambas al ajillo. Think upmarket Barcelona financial district, and you’re getting close to the look. Smart staff and dark leather create an impact, and while Manchester has a number of new Spanish restaurants such as Lunya, El Gato Negro and Iberica, there’s no reason why Tapeo might not emerge as the connoisseur’s Spanish restaurant and bar of choice. Watch this space for a review to follow.
Now open: Tapeo & Wine, 209 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 3NW. Tel: 0161 832 2770, www.tapeoandwine.com, www.facebook.com, www.twitter.com
