In some incredibly welcome and surprising news, Northern Quarter favourite Hold Fast will be reopening its doors later this month.

The underground bar, which is tucked beneath a former bowler hat factory on Newton Street, had closed its doors back in 2019. However, the venue is now set to return on Wed 29 Nov.

The nautical-themed bar, which is a part of Selina Manchester, is inspired by the tales of Jules Verne, whose novels include the likes of Around The World in Eighty Days and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea.

Hold Fast will be the fifth venture that Selina manages in the Northern Quarter in Manchester, following Wilson’s Social, The Corner Boy, Wilson’s Den and Creatures Comedy Club.

The bar houses its own bespoke secret cinema room plus a range of retro Sega games. Resident DJs and open mic nights are also also be regular occurrences, with free drinks on offer to those brave enough to take to the stage.

Wed 29 Nov, Hold Fast,
50 Newton St, Manchester M1 2EA
