A major public art performance in The Quays will see hundreds of runners in LED light suits perform in choreographed unison over three nights as part the Speed of Light event. The free performance uses cutting edge technology to turn runners into human fireflies, by attaching a series of LEDs to the joints, limbs and heads of moving bodies. The event – which is taking place for the first time in England – will be free to watch as it moves between The Lowry, IWM North and MediaCityUK, with no booking required. Speed of Light has previously swarmed by Edinburgh International Festival and the docklands of Yokohama in Japan. Part of Future Everything festival.
