Famed multi-instrumentalist, work-a-holic and all around genius Omar Rogriguez Lopez will be bringing his new Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group to Manchester on Thursday 27 September. It’s difficult to sum up this man’s achievements musically into a single paragraph. A guitarist/bassist in two of the most important alternative bands of the last few decades (post-hardcore outfit At The Drive-In, and more experimental/ambient influenced The Mars Volta), Lopez has released lashings of solo material, collaborating with everyone from Zach Hill (drummer of fave band Hella and Death Grips) to spoken word artist Lydia Lunch. Ideal for fans of experimental rock and intense, noise-driven live performances. Listen to Octopus Cool Aid.
