After just announcing a pretty special pre-Christmas one deck session with Bjork producer Graham Massey, Chorlton bar Electrik will welcome Manchester’s favourite daughter to take over the single turntable in Maxine Peake in January of 2018. Known primarily for her acting work and more recently as a fierce voice for social change with her support for Jeremy Corbyn, Peake has always had a keen ear for music featuring on tracks for Eccentronic Research Council (pictured) and Pins as well as in music videos for Cherry Ghost. At Electrik’s now legendary one deck sessions (are you truly a Manc hero if you haven’t done one?) she will be bringing her own eclectic tastes on vinyl to play for your auditory delight.

Wed 31 Jan, Electrik, 559 Wilbraham Road, Chorlton, Manchester M21 0AE. Tel: 0161 881 3315, 8.30pm, FREE, www.facebook.com
