Put a new perspective on Sunday evening music concerts with this audio-visual show completely unique to The Lowry. British-Iranian Shiva Feshareki is an internationally acclaimed turntablist and experimental composer and collaborator, whose awards include BBC/Guardian Young Composer of the year. Fresh from a Proms broadcast with the London Contemporary Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall, she will be composing new music live on stage in the Quays Theatre, presenting a highly physical solo turntable performance created in the moment and accompanied for the first time by audio-reactive visuals courtesy Belfast-based artist Helena Hamilton. Expect to be wowed by Feshareki’s deeply experimental and mesmerising sonic manipulations as she plays around with vinyl and samples, deconstructing and reimagining themes from the genres of contemporary club, dance, drone and even classical. With the shapes and sculptural depths of the newly formed soundscape simultaneously interpreted as projections, this really does sound like quite an experience.
