Looking for a way to shake off the New Year’s Eve cobwebs? Uswim are inviting you to kick off 2022 with an invigorating plunge into Salford Quays.

The annual event has become an increasingly popular way to spend New Year’s Day, with huge crowds turning out for the swim for ten years now.

There’ll be two courses on offer to participants; 200m tow-floats compulsory course for competent swimmers who are able to swim for as long as want (safety permitting), and a 100m non-tow-float course for swimmers who still want to try their hand at cold water swimming.

Returning will be the ‘best-dressed hat’ competition, along with giveaways and complimentary hot drinks.

Registration will open at 10am and the swim will commence at 11am. Tickets are priced at £25 for over 16s and £12.50 for ages 7-15.

Ticket proceeds will go towards Reubens Retreat—an organisation set up following the passing of 23-month-old Reuben Michael Graham in 2012, with the aim to support families who have lost a child, or those who have a child with a life-threatening or limited condition.

Head to the Uswim website for more info.
