Home (art gallery, cinema, theatre and general hub of all things creative) launches this weekend, with free events galore. A highlight for many will an appearance by film director Danny Boyle (Thu 21 May, 5pm, free), while Sunday sees the whole of First Street turned over to a fun, family friendly day out (see full preview). The line up over the weekend includes the UK premiere of Michael Fassbender’s latest outing, heading up a Western set in New Zealand in Slow West (sold out). There are tickets available, however, for the UK premiere of Don’t Go Back to Sleep on Saturday (23 May, 4pm, from £5), a feature length experimental film shot almost entirely on location in Kansas. There will be a q&a with director, Stanya Kahn, included in the ticket price, On Monday, delightfully quirky folk singer, Josephine (pictured) performs as part of a multi-media show that includes footage from the North West Film Archive (Mon 25 May, 6pm, from £5). The art gallery’s inaugural group show, The Heart is Deceitful Above all Things, opens at 6pm on Friday (22 May, until 11pm, other times vary, free) as well.
