Salford Quays may be more polished than it once was, but there’s still enough scope to cause a stir outside the BBC’s front door. This week the area’s MediaCityUK plays host to an ‘immersive experience of opera re-imagined’, featuring Lewisham recording artist and producer Kwes (pictured) and Go Opera, a London-based group of musical creatives determined to bring opera to a wider audience by using ‘up-to-date technology and urban spaces’. Heavily backed by one of the top-selling lagers in the UK (yes, it really is called Opera di Peroni) this event offers ticket-holders a free beer and platters of aperitivo before the show.
