With the summer festival season now in full swing, the streets are abuzz with tales of festival highlights, summer anthems and camping woes. The Royal Exchange brings those memories back to life this weekend in a collection of 18 short but powerful plays exploring the festival spirit; each in just the length of a single song. Pairing six talented playwrights with local musicians, Pages From My Songbook relives the sense of freedom and memories created through themes of love, life, loneliness and lager. Set against the backdrop of a festival scene, each play recreates the revelry and spirit of those music-filled evenings, mixing songs with slick storytelling to create an innovative theatre experience that will take you right back to the festival field, drink in hand.
