Performing for one night only at Manchester’s Instituto Cervantes this Sunday (26 Jun), prodigious Andalusian dancer Paula Comitre showcases a range of stunning, breathlessly energetic flamenco routines. Collectively titled Cuerpo Nombrado – named body’ – Comitre unites the distinct sequences with the ‘common tonality and graceful manner’ of her movement.

Joined by singer Miguel Ortega and guitarist Juan Campallo, Comitre’s alternations encompass a metamorphic journey through traditional flamenco with contemporary inflections. Described in Diario de Jerez as ‘a versatile dancer who opens up new horizons’, Comitre performs for the first time in Manchester following stints with globally esteemed companies including Ballet Flamenco of Andalucia and Tokyo’s Tablao Flamenco Garlochi. In 2020, she picked up the Best Emerging Artist Award at both the Festival de Jerez and the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla.

Tickets are discounted for Cervantes students, while the general public can take the exceptionally rare opportunity to see elite flamenco in Manchester for just £25.
