Salford’s historic Peel Park is marking its 180th anniversary with a full day of family-friendly celebrations this August.

Happening on Sat 22 Aug, the day’s programme will include performances from the Barton Theatre Company, live music from the Walkden Brass Band and John Denton, green badge guide tours and archery classes.

Visitors will also be able to explore a trail created by local artist Paul Pickford, in collaboration with St Philip’s CE Primary School, enjoy creative activities with artist Hannah Brown, meet with characters from the park‘s past and explore a museum of curiosities.

Peel Park’s 180th birthday festivities have been co-created with Salford Ranger Service and the Friends of Peel Park. The event is completely free to attend and no advance booking is required.
