In August 2018, to coincide with Manchester Pride, Penguin Publishing is hosting a special literary evening. Taking place at Z-arts in Hulme, the event features live readings from some of Penguin’s top LGBTQ authors, alongside some up-and-coming talent. Expect queer stories and experiences, told through the lens of multiple artistic disciplines. Hosted by the award-winning poet and playwright Toby Campion, the night will have spoken word performers, musicians, activists, pop-up bookshops, and more. Working with Gay Times, the organisers’ aim is to celebrate diversity and inclusion by championing queer literature. Confirmed performers include Kirsty Logan, a writer and educator from Glasgow, known for her novel ‘The Gracekeepers’. See the website below for the full line-up and booking details. £1 from every ticket sold will go to The Albert Kennedy Trust, a national LGBTQ youth homelessness charity.
