Renowned as one of the country’s most gifted contemporary artists, Jeremy Deller stops by Manchester’s Peste for a special in-conversation evening this May.
Deller won the Turner Prize in 2004 for his work Memory Bucket, and his creations over the last two decades are credited as a major influence over the conventional map of contemporary art.
Hosted at The White Hotel’s sister venue, bar and bookshop on Thu 18 May, Deller will be in conversation with Austin Collings, discussing his upcoming book Art is Magic — the first release in which the artist reflects on the entirety of his career, life and art.
Audiences can expect a broad range of topics to crop up, including Andy Warhol, Rod Stewart, Paul Daniels and…bats. There’ll also be a Q&A section.
Food will be available on the night, as will copies of Deller’s new book. Entry is free and no booking is required, just get down early to bag yourself a good spot. Head over to the Peste Instagram for more information.
