Legendary Bolton comedian Peter Kay has announced his long-awaited return to the live stage.

Peter Kay Live marks the comedian’s first live tour in 12 years, and will get underway with two huge homecoming dates at the Manchester Arena on Fri 2 and Sat 3 Dec.

Speaking about the tour, Kay said: “It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now”

“And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010”

Peter’s 2010 tour still officially ranks with the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest selling comedy tour of all time.

Last week Kay surprised fans by announcing a special show at The Lowry on Monday, sparking rumours of an imminent tour announcement.

Peter Kay Live in aid of The Lily Foundation unsurprisingly sold out almost instantly and follows a string of ‘secret shows’ in The Lowry’s theatre studio.

The Lily Foundation is the UK’s leading mitochondrial disease charity and the largest charitable funder of mitochondrial research in Europe.

The beloved comedic has been mostly out of the spotlight since the cancellation of his stand-up tour in December 2017 citing “unforeseen family circumstances”.

Tickets for the tour go on sale 10am Sat 12 Nov.
