A photography competition will launch on Saturday 22 September with 1,000 toy cameras being distributed around the city. Ten of the cameras will feature special prize codes that can be redeemed at the competition’s launch hub in Spinningfields. Hour Manchester is a charity project being undertaken by Informa plc to to celebrate the vibrancy and spirit of Manchester and, in doing so, raise £10,000 for the Prince’s Trust. The competition, which continues until Saturday 20 October, will focus on entries that celebrate and symbolise the community and culture of Greater Manchester. The theme of the competition is ’24 hours in Manchester’, with one winning entry for each 15 minutes in an hour. The 96 winning entries will be published in a reprographic book that will retail for £14.99, with all proceeds being donated to the Prince’s Trust.
