Following a 10 year absence, Streets Ahead return to Manchester in July to host a free festival in Platt Fields park and continue their track record of presenting world class street events across Cumbria, Yorkshire and the Tees Valley. The afternoon will transform the lakeside into a creative hub of street theatre performance, music, food and drink, and fun activities for all ages. The day will feature an array of street shows incorporating ballroom dance, traditional equine dressage, along with the intriguing offer to join a wedding ceremony. Though there will be a host of superb local street food stalls, visitors are also welcome to bring their own picnics. Families can also look forward to puppets and songs, circus and dance and a “parent-powered” carousel, along with plenty of surprises still to come. Aimed to bring the local community together, entrance to the festival along with all shows are free of charge.
