Poet in the City presents a special evening of poetry, music and art in celebration of legendary writer Frank O’Hara – 50 years since his death. From curating with Jackson Pollock to creating work inspired by Billie Holiday, O’Hara was at the heart of the 1960s creative explosion and the ‘New York School’. Since his untimely death at 40, legions of devoted followers have kept his name alive. Poet in the City brings together poet and lifelong O’Hara enthusiast Mark Ford, players from Aurora Orchestra and the acclaimed soprano Anna Dennis, to explore the great legacy of this enduring icon of literature and art.
