Later this month, the comedy troupe Pop-Up Puppet Cinema is coming to Fab Café, the retro futurist bar on Portland Street. Like Hollywood by way of Punch and Judy, PPC adapt and condense film classics into live shows, parodying the originals with a mixture reverence and irreverence. First on the bill is Spielberg’s seafaring adventure Jaws: How will they recreate the shark attacks with just string and felt? Well, that’s part of the magic of it. Following Jaws is the PPC crew’s rendition of Back to the Future,  the Eighties’ time travel, fish-out-of-water comedy. The group recently performed a similar show at the Northern Quarter’s 3 Minute Theatre, where they presented an interpretation of Raiders of the Lost Ark, garnering rave reviews along the way. Doors open at 7pm, with a show time of an hour later. You can pay on the door, or buy tickets via the website below. We suggest you book and arrive early to avoid disappointment.
