Of all the places to relax on a sunny day in Manchester, Chorlton Green has to be up there with the best. And given that this weekend is set to be a scorcher (according to reports, anyway), you best get down there early, as the Horse and Jockey host their now seemingly annual Prom on the Green event. Whil;e you catch the rays (and, the Horse will be hoping, enjoy a lovely glass of ale or some of the pub’s delicious food), you will be serenaded by the talents of Voice Collective and operatic singer Aimee Toshney, inspired by the bombast of The Brass Monkeys and delighted by contemporary classics with a contemporary twist from Leo’s String Quartet. It might not be laziest of Sundays, but it’s certain to be the classiest.
