PUSH Festival returns this January, showcasing the work of artists working across various media in the North West. The two-week long festival includes performances, screenings, panel discussions, workshops and an exhibition. Highlights include People Zoo Productions’s new take on The Trial, Franz Kafka’s darkly comic tale of one man’s struggle against unchecked power. There will also be a screening of The Crossing, the first feature by Manchester-based filmmaker Jason Wingard:  A mix of documentary and fictional drama, the film was shot over the course of a year in the Calais Jungle. In addition to screenings and performances, there’s several panel discussions aimed at people trying to get ahead in creative industries, and have subjects such as funding short films, digital marketing and getting ahead in VFX.
