Manchester-based Quarantine continues with its venture into more unexplored areas of the theatrical experience with a new series of shows, The Dyas Sisters. Created by two Dublin-based sisters, Grace and Veronica, The Dyas Sisters is book-style performance attempting to trace the sisters’ lifetime and the things they have experienced. But some things they don’t want to share, resulting in black outs. And here is where the performance takes a twist: each night, rather than perform themselves, Grace and Veronica will audition other performers as part of the show to play them in extracts of the book, including the blacked out scenes. Premiering at Contact on Wednesday 3 July, the series explores what happens when people present themselves on stage, the writing of history and who speaks on our behalf. Innovative and compelling, The Dyas Sisters furthers Quarantine’s internationally renowned reputation for merging performance and real life.
