This October Chetham’s Library welcomes a host of artists, printers and small publishers for the latest book fair curated by queer artists’ group, Strange Perfume. With a wealth of stalls from artists and authors to explore throughout the day, attendees can look forward to drop-in studio workshops by Jade Sweeting and Janina Sabaliauskaite, and make-your-own zine sessions with Cherry Styles and Brigid Elva. Alongside this, the programme of events will include readings by Emily Pope and Alexa Jean Barrett, book stands and a fair playlist by Prem Sahib running throughout the day. Reflecting the diversity and inclusion of artists working outside of the heteronormative, Strange Perfume aim to create safe environments where practicing queer artists, writers, printers and small publishers can constructively and openly discuss the identity and culture of the LGBTQIA community. This event is in association with the artist book publisher, Book Works.
