Making the journey from Withington to the Northern Quarter, Fuel’s Quippopotamus will be making its debut appearance in Odd Bar on Tuesday, and then every first Tuesday of the month. Showcasing the more eccentric and daring acts of the Manchester scene as well as more established acts, Quippo (for short) takes its first steps in the city’s eccentric centre also known as the Northern Quarter. For a first outing they offer up headliner Phil Ellis (pictured). Fresh from a critically acclaimed stint at the Fringe, Ellis is ready to take the comedy world by storm, starting with the upstairs of NQ staple Odd Bar. He will be supported by the Nation’s Beefheart and living sculpture of raw strength Jayne Edwards, as well as a host of surprises that MC Jack Evans and co-conspirator Jon Whiteley plan to inflict upon the baying crowds at Quip (for shorter). All this – and its free too.
