R3VEAL is an amalgamation of three traditional craft disciples – woodwork, glass-making, and textiles – brought into a contemporary environment and presented as a collaborative show. The artists showing are all based in Manchester, and have spent the last year with the Creative Industries Trafford (CIT) mentoring scheme under the guidance of artist Stella Corrall and freelance curator Kelda Savage. Bella May Leonard works with textiles, using hand-stitching to create works of embroidery that investigate colour, texture, and style; Gianluca Mingolla is a furniture designer, focusing upon the shared space between craft and technology; and, Kira Meyer is a glassmaker who uses conventional glass making skills to create both decorative and sculptural pieces using water and the sea as her primary source of inspiration. In response to CIT, a scheme to increase productivity and in the creative sector, these three artists have each produced a new collection of work to display.
