Chocoholics rejoice: Ramsbottom’s award-winning Chocolate Festival returns this weekend for the fifth year running. To celebrate the cocoa-based confection, the town will be hosting a series of events, including a market, a beer tent and music, while local cafés and restaurants will open their doors to special chocolate-based menus. There’ll be stalls offering quality treats, crafts and even chocolate beauty products as traders such as Divine Chocolate, Park Farm, Mr Fitzpatricks and many more come together on Bridge Street, while elsewhere you can have a try of Irwell Works Brewery’s chocolate beer and satisfy both your nose and taste buds with chocolate-inspired soaps, bathbombs and lip balms from Ramsbottom Soap Co. Divine’s David Greenwood-Haigh will also be giving a demonstration of the processes involved in making their delectable treats on Sunday (12pm – 2pm). With live acoustic sets, a mini farm and crafts providing entertainment throughout, there’s plenty to make a weekend of it.
