New to Gorilla this summer is Retro And Dangerous (R.A.D.), a series of film screenings dedicated to bringing Manchester the best in old-school cinema. R.A.D is the new screening wing of Grimm Up North, the city’s go-to club for horror and cult film fans. The series begins in fine form on Sunday 27July with a doubled-barrelled tribute to the late, great Patrick Swayze – featuring two classics, Road House and Point Break. On Sunday 10 August, meanwhile, you can travel the world and elsewhere with both Bill & Ted movies. The latter screening will feature a game of Twister between films (a reference to Bogus Journey). Further guilty pleasures will be available in the form of popcorn, nachos, hotdogs and cocktails. We’ve teamed up with R.A.D. to offer one lucky reader a pair of tickets for the Bill & Ted event, with nachos and hotdogs thrown in for good measure. To enter, simply send the answer to the question below in an email to competitions at manchesterwire dot co dot uk with the subject line ‘Bill & Ted competition’ and your name, age and Twitter handle. We’ll pick a winner on Wednesday 6 August and notify them by email.
