Review: CitySuites nails luxury and practicality in the heart of Manchester

Towered above Manchester’s Embankment neighbourhood, just a five-minute stroll from the lively streets of Deansgate, CitySuites promises to provide guests with the luxury facilities of a five-star aparthotel.

With two neighbouring venues, the original CitySuites I and the newer CitySuites II, visitors can choose from a variety of serviced apartments that range from studio and premium one-bed spaces to larger family apartments that sleep up to four people and the extra luxurious ‘SuperSuites’.

For our stay, we booked into a one-bed apartment in CitySuites II. A more than adequate space for a couple, the apartment features an impressive-sized living space, fully equipped kitchen and gorgeous views out over Manchester’s ever-changing skyline.

CitySuites guests also gain access to the building’s 18-metre indoor swimming pool, spa pool and steam room. Designed with calming hues and relaxation in mind, this was an incredibly welcome perk and the perfect way to unwind after a long day.

An impressive on-site 24-hour gym is also available exclusively to guests across both CitySuites I and II. Featuring the latest state-of-the-art Matrix equipment, visitors will find all they need to tackle a variety of workouts from free-weights to cardio machines.

Looking for a bite to eat? Nestled beneath the aparthotel towers is CitySuites’ Embankment Kitchen, which specialises in modern, seasonal British cuisine all of which is served up in its stunning, elegant dining area. Afterwards, head to the bar to sample one (or two) tipples from the venue’s ever-changing cocktail menu.
