Rip It Up brings a season of rebellion and era-defining classics to HOME

Running throughout autumn, HOME hosts a film season celebrating and exploring the changing face of youth rebellion, culture, and expression.

In partnership with BFI, Rip It Up journeys through different eras of youth culture, from Teddy Boys and mods to hedonistic self-expression in music and fashion, revisiting the many ways these generations have been portrayed on the big screen.

Highlights from HOME’s Rip It Up season include genre-defining flicks like Quadrophenia, Babylon, A Clockwork Orange, Pressure, Reclaim the Frame presents: Beautiful Thing and the Black Audio Film Collective’s landmark Handsworth Songs. 

Elsewhere in the programme, Icon / Iconoclast spotlights works by punk pioneer Jordan (Pamela Rooke), whose legacy is widely held as the original and definitive face of punk.
