On Sat 10 May, Kook Ensemble’s Sand comes to Lowry in a tender and uplifting exploration of love, memory and human connection.
Dylan has dementia. As his illness progresses, his wife Heather is forced to watch his personality fade while he battles with increasing memory loss – but she refuses to let the love of her life slip away without a fight.
Together, they work to remember their shared past – the laughter, the struggles, the highs and lows – and reclaim the transcendent joy that keeps them connected for whatever the future holds.
Described as ‘spectacular and deeply moving’ by Theatre Weekly, Sand offers a touching, triumphant tale of defiance and unity that promises to delight audiences of all tastes.
Sand is Kook Ensemble’s second show, following their critically acclaimed tour of Filibuster in 2024.
