The iconic Sankeys nightclub is set to return to Manchester, nine years after the closure of its Ancoats venue.

After teasing a return back in June, the new 500-capacity city centre venue has now confirmed it will host launch parties on Fri 30 Jan & Sat 31 Jan, with lineups and location still to be announced.

The club will then open one day a week, on Saturdays, with Sankeys’ beloved Tribal Sessions holding a monthly residency. Announcing the news, the venue also shared that it would be operating a no VIP, no phones on the dancefloor policy, with its famous LED matrix grid also coming back alongside a chill-out room.

Sankeys ran out of the disused Soap Factory Beehive Mill in Ancoats between 1994 and 2017. Since closing its doors, the team have continued to promote and host nights in Manchester and beyond.

According to a press release, programming will feature ’emerging underground house, tech house and techno artists, alongside a selection of classic Sankeys names.’

Tickets for Sankeys’ reopening parties will go on sale Fri 28 Nov at 9am. Sign up below for tickets and lineup announcements.
