Bread. Cheese. Wine. Beer… Move over, Maria von Trapp; these are a few of our favourite things. Lucky us, then, that The Creameries team has decided to dedicate Sundays to worshipping our favourite dairy product, dishing up an alternative to the traditional and now ubiquitous roast dinner. From noon, gather together friends and family and enjoy Cheesy Sundays around the big sharing tables at Mary-Ellen McTague’s Chorlton gaff. Think freshly baked crusts dunked in whole baked Pexommier cheese from Todmorden or oozy Ogleshield cheese dripping off the new raclette machine from The Courtyard Dairy in Settle. Team with home-cured meats, smoked fish, chargrilled vegetables, homemade pickles, potato rostis and cheese pies, wash down with swigs of craft beer and natural wine, and sprinkle with post-lunch fun – check The Creameries calendar to see what’s on: acoustic night, storytelling session, bread-making or more. And don’t be put off if you haven’t booked – there’s always space for last-minute decision-makers!

Every Sunday, The Creameries, 406 Wilbraham Road, Chorlton, Manchester, M21 0SD, Tel: 0161 312 8328, midday onwards, www.thecreameries.co.uk
