Two Mancunian cocktail connoisseurs have been recognised at this year’s edition of the Class Bar Awards.
Both Schofield’s and Mecanica scooped big accolades at the ceremony, an achievement made that bit more impressive considering both venues are still very much fresh-faced in the city, though both have been earning rave reviews in their relatively short time here.
Schofield’s not only took home ‘Bar of the Year’, but they also secured the title of ‘Best New Bar’ for good measure.
Meanwhile, Mecanica’s Elena Wright now boasts the title of ‘Emerging Bartender of the Year’.
The awards are judged by a combination of renowned industry figures, and an industry vote from a panel of more than 70 of the UK’s top bar industry experts drawn from more than 20 cities.
We’ll certainly drink to that.
