Manchester’s newest luxury cocktail bar, Schofields, has revealed that it will officially open its doors to the public on Wednesday 14 April, inviting punters into their new home inside Manchester’s historic Sunlight House. Created by award-winning cocktail experts Joe and Daniel Schofield, the duo’s debut Manchester bar will welcome visitors with a carefully curated selection of 24 vibrant cocktails, alongside an extensive list of wines and beers.
Their 70-seater bar also comes complete with an airy outdoor terrace which can seat a further 60 people for al-fresco drinks. When it comes to food, the siblings behind Schofields’ will be serving up a menu of locally sourced cheese and charcuterie boards, alongside pastries from Ancoats favourite Pollen Bakery and a selection of coffees.
The venue also plans to continue its popular delivery and takeaway service which launched during lockdown to provide customers with bottled cocktails, cheese and charcuterie boards, wine and coffee. Schofield’s takeaway menu features four bottled cocktails featuring exciting twists on familiar favourites – like rhubarb Negronis, rose and lavender Martinis, raspberry espresso Martinis and a dark chocolate and mint Old Fashioned. Available for £24.99, each bottle contains enough for five servings, while their cheese and charcuterie boards start at just £9.50 for a three-item board and range up to £19.50 for a seven-item board or £23.50 for a wine and three item option. Joe and Daniel have even curated a wine, beer and champagne list to help you craft the perfect night in.
Taking over the historic former home of iconic Spinningfields pub The Old Grapes – Schofields is the duo’s first Manchester venture following a combined 25 years spent working in the drinks industry. Joe was the first person ever to win both the International Bartender of the Year award at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards and the Bartender’s Bartender prize at the World’s 50 Best Bars 2018. Meanwhile, his brother Daniel was nominated for Bartender of the Year at 2018’s Class Bar Awards and previously worked as the Assistant Bar Manager at Coupette in London.
